The MSA Giving Back Initiative
Supporting Scholars in Times of Need
The MEXT Scholars Association (MSA) proudly launched the Giving Back Initiative, a solidarity campaign designed to support members of our community during one of the most challenging times.
In 2020–2021, as new MEXT scholars faced financial strain due to mandatory quarantine requirements upon their arrival in Japan, MSA stepped in to help. Through a successful crowdfunding campaign, we raised over ¥1.5 million, which provided direct financial assistance to more than 20 scholars.
This initiative embodied the spirit of unity, compassion, and collective responsibility that defines the MSA community — ensuring that every scholar could begin their journey in Japan with dignity and support.
What to Expect on the Day
Attendees can look forward to an inspiring and collaborative session highlighting how the MSA community came together through the Giving Back Initiative. The event will include:
- Opening Remarks from MSA representatives and past scholarship recipients.
- Stories of Impact shared by students who benefited from the initiative.
- Panel Discussion on community support, resilience, and giving back.
- Networking Opportunities to connect with fellow scholars, alumni, and supporters.
