The MEXT Scholars Association (MSA) is inviting applications from current MEXT scholarship recipients to join the MSA team. These roles provide an opportunity to gain leadership experience, contribute to the MEXT scholar community, and work closely with the MSA core team.

Secretary (Paid Position)

For current MEXT scholarship recipients

MSA is looking for a Secretary to support internal coordination and communication within the MEXT scholar community.

• Key details:
  
  • Paid role
  • Preferably based in Tokyo
  • Japanese proficiency at N1 or N2 level required

• Responsibilities:
  
  • Writing newsletters and official announcements
  • Organizing internal teams and coordination
  • Handling administrative work and documentation
  • Supporting MSA events and activities

Vice-Head of Finance

For current MEXT scholarship recipients

MSA is recruiting a Vice-Head of Finance to help manage finances and support MSA activities.

• Responsibilities:
  
  • Assisting with budgeting and expense tracking
  • Supporting reimbursements and financial records
  • Working closely with the Finance Head and executive team
  • Application process: Applications are collected through the Google Form at the end of the article followed by interviews with MSA core team members.

Vice-Head of IT

For current MEXT scholarship recipients

MSA is looking for a Vice-Head of IT to help maintain and update MSA’s digital platforms.

• Responsibilities:
  
  • Updating the MSA website with news, events, and blog posts
  • Working with web tools such as Webflow
  • Supporting Google Forms and basic data management
  • Fixing minor website issues, errors, and typographical mistakes
